Fast & effective green pool treatment

Green Pool Recovery

Green, black, swampy or just cloudy: we bring it back to clear blue water, usually without draining a drop.

Overview

This is what we're known for

A pool goes green when algae gets ahead of the chlorine. It happens after a holiday, a heatwave, a pump failure, a heavy storm or just a few missed weeks. The good news is that a green pool is almost always recoverable, and draining it is rarely the answer.

Dahkoda treats the water in place: kill the algae, filter out the dead material, then balance and stabilise so it stays clear.

How the recovery works

1

Assess and test

Check the water chemistry, the filter and the pump. If the equipment can't move water, nothing else will work.

2

Shock and treat

A heavy chlorine dose plus algaecide to kill the bloom, with the pH set so the chlorine actually does its job.

3

Brush and circulate

Brush walls and floor to break algae off the surfaces so the chlorine can reach it. Run the filter hard.

4

Clear the cloud

Dead algae turns the water cloudy. We clarify or flocculate, vacuum to waste and backwash or clean the filter as needed.

5

Balance and stabilise

Once it's clear, we balance everything and talk through a plan so it doesn't happen again.

Common questions

How long does it take?
Most pools are noticeably clearer within a couple of days and swim-ready within about a week. Badly neglected pools, or ones with a struggling filter, can take a little longer. We'll give you an honest estimate after seeing it.
Wouldn't it be easier to drain it?
Usually not. Draining costs you a pool's worth of water, can damage fibreglass and concrete shells if the ground is wet, and the fresh fill still needs balancing. Treating in place is cheaper and safer for your pool in almost every case.
How do I stop it going green again?
Steady chlorine, correct pH and stabiliser, enough filter run time and a working cleaner. A regular service keeps all four in check.
